Bowen Therapy

What is Bowen Therapy?

Bowen Therapy is a hands-on bodywork technique in which gentle cross fiber myofascial activations are used to stimulate the body’s intercellular communication systems to promote healing. The activations stimulate the parasympathetic arm of the autonomic nervous system, promoting tissue repair and reducing adrenalin and cortisol secretions.

A Bowen treatment reboots the body’s housekeeping and maintenance systems as it stimulates the innate healing response of your body.  The activations also promote remodeling of asymmetrical connective tissue and prunes dysfunctional neural pathways, which improves range of motion and eliminates pain. Blood and lymph flow increase in a stimulated area, bringing in nutrients and removing waste.
